2. Have a clear goal
Let’s illustrate this point with an example: David owns a blog about yoga. His goal is to get more people over his website so he can sell them yoga stuff or at least make money off ads by getting more clicks on his website pages. To accomplish that, he has to make some decisions like what content will be on his page, how often will he update it or even whether the design of his site fits the audience visiting it. These are all key factors in achieving your goals with growing website . Here are some examples of great content:
3. Content is king, but traffic is queen
What you want to do with growing a website is getting more traffic on your site. You can have the best content in the world, but if nobody sees it, then what’s the point? After all, you want people to see your content and hopefully read it. So how can we increase our traffic ? We’re going to give you a few tips that might be useful for you so your website will grow as much as possible:
4. Don’t limit yourself to one platform
You might ask now “but I already have my social media! It’s Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn!”. Yes, those are great platforms for sharing information or connecting with friends and family, but that’s not what we’re talking about here. We need to get more traffic on our site, and these social media platforms are a great way to do that. If you want your website grow , then it might be a good idea to expand your reach by sharing interesting posts from your blog elsewhere online. Some good sites for this purpose could be Tumblr or Pinterest . Here is an example of a post shared on another platform:
5. Promote yourself
Now comes the time where most people would start a whole new paragraph with some smart words like “promoting your website ” or something else along those lines, but we think you’ve heard enough about promoting yourself already so instead we’ll just throw in some other tips while avoiding repeating ourselves. So The Indian Jurist has some more tips that you can use to promote your website better:
6. Optimize your site for search engines
You might be starting to wonder why we’ve kept mentioning social media sites so much, but don’t worry, it’ll soon become clear. But first… The big wigs in the search engine world would like to give us a friendly reminder that there is only one way of getting good results when searching for anything on their websites and that’s by using keywords. What does this mean? Well, putting the right words into blog posts or other content on your website will help people find their way to you which will definitely increase traffic if done well. Here’s an example of how keywords work:
7. Use social media
Here’s some more social media related tips for growing your website. The first one is to create a blog on your profile. You can do this on Twitter or Tumblr, but make sure you use keywords in the title! After all, if someone types “yoga” into the search bar of Twitter, they might see David’s page if he did everything right. Here’s an example:
8. Comment on other blogs
This tip follows up from our last paragraph about using social media to grow your website. If you comment on other blogs and include a link back to yours, then that opens up a whole new world of possibilities. We’re not going to go too much into detail because we could probably write another post just about this, but it’s definitely a way of getting more traffic to your site so give it a shot.
9. Be consistent!
With all these tips, you have to remember that they need consistency otherwise none of them will help you with growing website . If David doesn’t update his website very often then nobody will visit it because he’s just not giving people a reason to go there. That means if you’re going to use this advice for your own website , make sure you commit yourself to actually doing it every day or at least as much as possible. Here is an example from another blog:
10. Make sure your content fits the audience visiting the page
Remember how we said earlier that David has yoga stuff on his site? Well…that’s fine for him and his friends to read, but it won’t do much in the way of growing a website. Why? Well, because not many people will take an interest in that type of content which means they won’t share it with their friends, which means nobody will visit David’s site. What should he have done instead? Well…it would be a good idea if he wrote something more general about yoga or something else his audience might want to read. Waterfall Magazine is an example from another blog:
11. Have fun!
And lastly…don’t forget to have fun when trying to grow your website . After all…what’s life without having fun when doing things right? This tip can apply to anything you’re doing, but if you’re getting frustrated then just take a break and come back to it later because that will probably solve whatever problem you were having…unless you forgot the password from your WordPress account!
