This can make learning to walk quite a challenging task. It can become easier if you follow the right steps, but that’s exactly what this tutorial aims to help you with.

How to Draw Running

Step 1

When we start this running drawing guide, let’s start by drawing a running man’s head and chest. This image will depict a cartoon style, but the proportions remain fairly realistic. Use some curved lines with dots to show her hair blowing in the wind, and then you can draw her intense expression.

Her face is drawn in profile, and then her thin, straight neck is attached directly to it. Use a few more curved lines for the vest she’s wearing. For now, we’re just drawing the beginning of the vest, so once you have it, like the reference image, we can move on to the next step.

Step 2

Let’s draw the rest of his chest and first arm to continue this ongoing drawing. Use a few more curved lines to create his shirt’s fabric. It looks like he’s running in a race, so let’s also draw a big 2 in a square on his shirt.

Finally, we draw his first arm. This is extended to the left at an angle of almost 90 degrees. After extracting, it’s time for step 3 of the guide.

Step 3

You can now draw the other arm and details in this How To Draw running. The right arm comes out of the sleeve and is bent as the other one did with a fist at the end. The last thing we’ll draw in this third step is the shorts he’s wearing.

These also have curved lines to give them a flowing fabric look. To show that he’s halfway done, you can pull one leg of the shorts forward and the other leg back. That’s all for now, so we can move on to the next part of the guide.

Step 4

You’ve drawn the shorts for this running design, and now we can draw the first leg out of it. The legs are one of the most important aspects of this design to be correct, so this is a step where you should try to follow the reference image closely. This leg is extended outwards and is pretty simple.

Try to replicate the curves of the lines as we show them in our image, as this will help you get an accurate representation of a leg’s musculature. You finish off with a shoe at the end of the leg, and then it’s time for some final details and elements in the next step.

Step 5

Before we start coloring your creation, we have some final details to add in this fifth step of our guide to draw running. The main thing that we will draw will be the second stage. This one will extend backward and, unlike the first leg, will be bent at the knee.

Draw Running

Once drawn, you can draw some extra details! There are many cool ideas to get inspiration from when you do this. One would be to draw a background, which is a great way to create your environment.

Step 6

This is the last part of this ongoing drawing, and in it, we will finish with some colors! In this step, you can use your creativity to make this image exactly how you want it. In our reference image, we just showed you a range of colors that you could use to colorize this image.

Running Drawing

We used yellow for his jacket, blue for his pants, and green for his sneakers. These are some colors you can choose if you like them, but you can use other colors you like!
