Lotion or cream are the first things that come to mind when thinking about moisturizing the skin. Oil is our face’s source of life. And why not! However, you should know that face oils have a very long history. It is likely that you have heard of them many times from your grandmother’s prescriptions. The use of coconut oil, almond oil, or olive oil in beauty regimes has been a tradition since ancient times.
Benefits Of Oils:
The oils have anti-aging properties. This is because all kinds of natural oils contain antioxidant elements. In other words, it helps to fight the damage caused by the UV rays of the sun to our skin, which later results in wrinkles and dark spots.
1. The oil is easily absorbed by the skin
Oils are lipophilic. Therefore, they are easily absorbed by penetrating the lipid layer of the skin as compared to water-based moisturizers. Due to this, the skin gets moisture from the inside, unlike moisturizers and lotions which only provide moisture from the outside. Especially after the age of 30, face oils are a great way to enhance the skin. This is the age when wrinkles start getting a little darker. Only a few drops of these beauty oils prove to be helpful in keeping our skin young and healthy.
2. Olis is a skin protector
Face oils help prevent skin irritation and inflammation. On the cracks that appear on the skin due to dryness, just a few drops of coconut, almond, or argan oil are enough to soothe every skin problem.
3. The oil hydrates your skin
Our skin needs moisture all the time. Face oils contain essential fatty acids. Which locks the moisture of the skin inside. After washing your face, apply the anti-aging face oil directly on the face. By applying the oil on slightly wet skin, it moisturizes the skin from the inside. Due to this, the skin remains moist, fresh, and healthy throughout the day.
4. Best for dry skin
The oil works to protect dry, lifeless skin in winter. Our lips and skin can dry out due to the dry and cold winter air. Oil is the best way to deal with this drought. Because moisture stays in the skin for a long time, you don’t have to apply it again and again.
5. Prevent acne
The oils can also help you with your face, acne, pimples, etc. Jojoba oil actually reduces the production of natural oil from our skin, which opens up the skin pores and allows the skin to breathe, thus gradually reducing acne.
Skin oils are now produced in a more elegant and lighter way, so they can be used every day. But always remember, don’t use it too much but in small quantities.
How to use face oil?
- Just 2 or 3 drops of skin oil a day. You can also use it by mixing it with a regular moisturizer. However, never apply SPF with a moisturizer containing SPF, as this will reduce the effect of the sunscreen.
- After cleansing and toning the face, apply the oil directly to the face. Next, apply your normal serum or moisturizer.
- Never add oil by wiping. Always rub the skin by gently pressing with your hands.
- Always apply the oil to delicate wet skin immediately after bathing. In this way, it traps moisture inside the skin, so the skin stays soft for a long time.
